Starting August 14, a new raid schedule will be in place. I know most everyone will be back by that day, or the day after, and if we are to progress and do what we came here to do, we must all contribute as much as possible. For the next couple of weeks, we will have 4 nights designated to Karahzan. I feel that we only need a couple weeks tops to clear it. Once we're able to clear it, we should be focusing on trying to get it done within 3 nights. Eventually I intend to have it done in 2 nights. But until then, we will be scheduled to raid 4 nights a week. It will be a little rough, but we will have a lot to show for our hard work. We have great potential, and I feel that if everyone does their part, we will be quickly on our way towards Gruul’s Lair. Raid nights will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Monday, until we have it on 3 nights clear. Invites will start at 7:30 PM server, and the raid will begin promptly at 8 PM server. This means that buffs, trading, anything that needs to be done prior to first pull must be done prior to 8 PM. We will plan on ending no later than midnight, unless there are specific circumstances. That call will be made by the raid leader at that time. I expect a good solid 4 hours to be put into our raids from everyone. We won’t always go to 12 PM, but please be ready to go till then. I don’t want to have to call the raid because 1 person had to leave early. If you have to leave early, then it is your job to have a replacement ready when you have to go. Make sure the raid leader knows in advance. Communication is key to success. A replacement of equal performance in the raid; IE, if you’re a DPS, then it must be a DPS, if you’re a healer, then it must be a healer. I also want to see buff food. Im not particularly picky on bosses we can clear without a problem, but I want to see buffs on the ones we still struggle on. It is a must to have buff food, weapon buffs such as oils, poisons etc., and potions on progression bosses.
Anything you need to take care of, please do your best to have it done prior to 8 PM. If we are to succeed, we all need to be on the same page. I want people to have fun, but I expect everyone to come in there serious, paying attention, listening, and doing their job at their best ability. I know people have work in the morning, as I do, but if we are to succeed, I need everyone to give 110% into this. The time and days are never set in stone, they can be changed. They are chosen to best suit the guild as a whole. They are not designated to suit any one person specifically. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know and we will see what we can do.
I kindly ask of everyone to participate outside of raids as well. One of the problems we had in the past is people got lazy, and figured they would get gear out of Karahzan, so they didn’t worry about getting crafted items made, running heroics, getting rep up for items they could buy. Well, look where it had gotten us. It’s August, and we’re still in Karahzan. This is by far the wrong outlook to take. Crafted items, rep rewards, and heroic drops are by far a big step towards end game; they are not something to skip. Some of the rewards and crafted items are in fact better than some drops out of Karahzan, so they are definitely not a waste of time. Let’s pick up where things were left off, and show everyone what we really are capable of.
Meters aren’t everything, but they can give a person a good idea of how everyone is performing on an individual level. I will be watching the meters on certain bosses and looking for certain things from specific players. For instance, Aran is a pure DPS fight. The faster we kill him, the better our chances are. If you are lowest on the meter, then you need to do some work. If it continues over time, then you will not be invited to raids due to your lack of participation outside of raids. Your gear is a direct reflection of your participation outside of raiding. We can tell how much you participate outside of raids. This game, and this guild is not all about raiding, there are other aspects to this game that are needed to be explored and conquered in order to make you a better player, and make the guild perform better as a team. If my alt (Shadow priest) can out DPS your main, then something is definitely wrong and we have a problem. She is not Kara geared; therefore you have no excuse as to why I am able to out DPS you.
The rise and fall of the guild lie’s on all of your shoulders right now, not just the officers. It is up to all of the members to get our name out there, and to show the server that we are capable of doing impressive things. This is how we will grow; this is how we will succeed. Requirements to be keyed will be starting soon. Heroics are a stepping stone towards Kara, and if they are too hard for you, then either your skill isn’t up to par, and you need to work on it, or your gear isn’t good enough, and you need to work on it. If your gear isn’t good enough for heroics, then it definitely isn’t good enough for Karahzan. Instances and Heroic Instances are like practicing for a team. If you don’t practice, you don’t get better, and the person who does practice, and gets better, will eventually take your spot. Remember that incase someone gets an invite to a raid over you, and it wasn’t to get them gear you already had. I want to get everyone geared, but the ones who put forth the effort will become geared first. Let’s get to work and make this happen.
